The Centre for Cancer Biology (CCB) has received a significant boost to its 2017 cancer research program with 13 grants totalling approximately 9 million dollars. The CCB’s high rate of grant success was approximately double the nation’s average for applicants across the nation’s Medical Research Institutes and Universities.
Eleven CCB project grants were funded. The successful applicants included Professors Greg Goodall, Hamish Scott, Susan Branford, Stuart Pitson, Associate Professor Simon Conn, Dr Alex Staudacher, Dr Phil Gregory and the CCB Co-Directors Professor Angel Lopez and Professor Sharad Kumar.
The funding, delivered by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Australian Research Council (ARC), was awarded in the face of tough national competition and will deliver jobs and support for innovative ideas hatched here in SA.
